Aranda burn planned for tomorrow

controlled burn

THE ACT Parks and Conservation Service has given notice of a prescribed burn scheduled to take place tomorrow in Aranda, weather permitting.

The 7.9 hectare burn will take place in the Aranda Bushland Nature Reserve, east of Bindubi Street and west of Caswell Drive. The burn is being conducted to help protect surrounding suburbs and residences by reducing fuel loads and limiting potential fire spread.

Crews will continue to monitor the burn site in Aranda on Sunday.

Following a warm and dry December and January, we received significant rain across the Territory toward the end of January and early February. Since then, warm and dry weather has assisted in drying proposed burn areas.
