Ashley Drive duplication rumbling on

Mick Gentleman

MICK Gentleman has announced $3.5 million in funding for the completion of the Stage 3 Ashley drive duplication, to be complete by the end of 2018.

“This is a great announcement for the local Tuggeranong community with the completion of the full duplication of Ashley drive to be completed in 2018,” Mick said.

“Through my conversations with many people in the Tuggeranong community residents have been discussing their views on the importance of the Ashley Drive duplication, which will provide two additional lanes as well as additional safety measures at intersections and improved walking and cycling facilities completed to Johnston drive.

“This is stage three of the duplication, with works being staged over last three years. Works will cost a total of just over $35 million and was an election commitment from the Labor Party in the 2012 election.

“It is important to note that this is a Government who is taking the interests of all Canberran’s into account and is building a integrated transport system that will provide certainty to the Canberra community for Generations to come.

“I look forward to seeing the works progress along this key arterial road in the south of Tuggeranong over the coming two years.”
