It’s over: Assembly vote formally confirmed

A SMALL group of elected candidates, Legislative Assembly members, media and the general public gathered today to witness the last stage of the ACT election, the formal declaration of the polls.

ACT electoral commissioner Phil Green spoke of the achievement of this year’s majority-woman government, as well as, the age range, which illustrated candidates from their 20s to 60s.

Labor Leader Andrew Barr told the audience he looked forward to many debates with the newly appointed Liberal leader, Alistair Coe.

Coe said the Canberra Liberals will be open to fresh ideas and committed to hold the Barr government to account.
