Conder servo robbed with a blow-torch

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery at the Woolworths Petrol service station on Norman Lindsay Street, Conder on Saturday, 14 May.

About 10.00pm, a man entered the service station and threatened a staff member with a propane blow-torch and demanded cash.

The staff member complied, handing over a sum of cash before the offender fled on foot towards the nature reserve on Tharwa Drive.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his early 20’s, about 170cm (5’7”) tall, of slim build, with an Australian accent.

He was wearing dark pants, a gray hooded jumper and gloves. The offender had a black balaclava covering his face.

Police are urging anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Conder area, can identify the offender or who has any information to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Please quote reference number 5960785. Information can be provided anonymously.

Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
