ACT Policing is investigating a threatening phone call made today to the ACT Magistrates Court yesterday.
About 1.00pm, police attended and evacuated the ACT Magistrates Court and the ACT Supreme Court as a standard safety precaution.
About 6:12pm, police were satisfied there was no threat and the buildings were deemed safe.
Under Commonwealth legislation it is an offence to make a false report to police, and under ACT legislation it is an offence to make a false statement with intent to cause public alarm or to intentionally give a false alarm of fire, emergency or other incident.
Police are urging anyone who could assist police to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or via act.crimestoppers.com.au. Information can be provided anonymously. Police remind people they should not report crime information via Facebook and Twitter pages.
