FIREFIGHTERS have prevented the spread of a unit fire in Hawker this morning (December 9) with one unit not so lucky.
Crews were alerted to the fire at 6.46am but unfortunately the unit was completely demolished by the fire.
The building was evacuated and three people were assessed by paramedics on site but didn’t need further treatment.
The damage is estimated to cost approximately $250,000.
The unit directly above the fire suffered significant smoke damage as well.
