Firefighters race to rescue trapped dog in Conder

ACT Fire & Rescue is currently rescuing a dog in Conder.

Crews were alerted to the trapped animal at Tuggeranong Hill, off Callister Crescent at 11.24am and have sent two off-road vehicles to assist.

It is understood the dog has crawled inside a disused concrete power pole and fire fighters are using fibre-optic cameras to locate and extricate the animal.

Firefighters are awaiting safety clearance from ACTEW before beginning work to rescue Chief the bulldog from inside the high-voltage power pole.
