Idiot motorcyclist caught 70kmh over the limit

A 23-year-old Forde man was caught at 70km/h over the speed limit last night on Flemington Road by an unmarked police car. 

policeAround 10:50pm a police patrol detected the motorcyclist travelling at 140kmh in a sign-posted 70kmh speed zone.  The police activated their emergency lights and directed the rider to stop.

He faces an $1831 fine and the loss of six demerit points.

Acting superintendent of Traffic Operations, Susan Ball, said the incident was a reminder to those who disregard the speed limit, that they will be caught.

“We continue to urge everyone in the community to think about road safety as their personal responsibility leading into the Christmas holidays,” she said.
