Megan wants a farmer, and the seat of Bendigo

2004 candidate for the ACT Legislative Assembly, Megan Purcell, is lighting up national media at the moment.

Not only is she a contestant on Australia’s hottest dating show, Channel 9’s “The Farmer Wants a Wife”, she’s also been pre-selected to be the Liberal Party’s candidate in the seat of Bendigo.

News Limited have the story.

“CityNews” asked Megan how running for Bendigo compared to the ACT Legislative Assembly.

“I’m proud that I was given the opportunity as a young, broke but very determined and very passionate university student to run in Canberra,” Megan said.

“I still love Canberra and look forward to spending a lot more time there!

“As for reality TV, well that was a great bit of fun. I’m not a cookie cutter politician and I’ve lived an authentic life, but for now my focus is on how I can get out there and best represent the people of Central Victoria.”

We approached her former boyfriend the ACT Shadow Minister for Planning & Infrastructure, Transport, Urban Services and Heritage, Alistair Coe, how he felt about Megan’s latest ventures and received a reply of “No comment thanks”.
