Further nurse-led walk-in centres

ANDREW Barr is promising that a re-elected ACT Labor Government will open new nurse-led walk-in health centres in Weston Creek and Gungahlin bringing the total in the ACT to four.

“These new centres will make it easier for more Canberrans to access even better care,” Andrew said.

“As part of my address to the Labor Party conference on Saturday, I’ll announce it will be a Labor government that will build walk-in centres in Gungahlin and Weston Creek.

“The nurse-led walk-in centres provide free one-off advice and treatment for people with minor illness and injury. This ensures that all Canberrans can get the health support they need. The centres also take pressure off other areas of the health system.

“This is part of my government’s promise to the people of Canberra – that you can only trust a Labor Government to ensure you have access to the health services you need.

“This announcement is part of ACT Labor’s positive plan for our city, which my colleagues and I will be discussing at this weekend’s party conference.”
