Road works will bring ‘short’ delays

MOTORISTS have been warned to expect “short” delays next week as lane closures and road works continue at the Federal Highway and Horse Park drive/Majura Parkway interchange.

Horse Park Drive westbound at the Federal Highway overpass will be reduced to one lane with the northern lane closed daily between 6am and 4pm from Tuesday, November 1 to Thursday, November 3 (weather permitting).

The southern lane of Horse Park Drive westbound at the Federal Highway overpass will be closed on weekdays between 6am and 4pm from Friday, November 4 to Tuesday, November 8 (weather permitting). The northern lane will be open at this time and traffic will be reduced to one lane.

The closures are to allow for the installation of devices to monitor load limits of heavy vehicles.

These works will follow the installation of the devices on the Federal Highway southbound ramps, which is expected to be completed on Monday.

A reduced speed limit of 40 kmh will be in place during the work and for the week following the works to help protect the device installed.

Following installation of the devices at these sites works will continue on:

  • Horse Park Drive eastbound at the Federal Highway overpass
  • the Federal Highway northbound on ramp from Horse Park Drive
  • the Federal Highway northbound departing the interchange
  • the Federal Highway southbound approaching the interchange.
