EVEN as QL2 Dance prepares for its three-week production, “This Poisoned Sea”, at The Playhouse, news is to hand that its 2016 production “Connected” has been shortlisted for a Australian Dance Award.
Canberra punches above its weight this year, with Canberra dance artists Liz Lea and Phillip Piggin also shortlisted.
“Connected” was a triple-bill of diverse pieces, created by the dancers of QL2’s Quantum Leap ensemble working with choreographers Sara Black, Kristina Chan, Alison Plevey and Adam Deusien.
It explored connections through the skin and connections with the natural world.
The annual dance awards honour professional Australian dance artists who have made an outstanding contribution to dance. Winners will be announced at the 2017 Australian Dance Awards in Melbourne on September 24.
