VIOLINIST Barbara Jane Gilby and pianist Sally Greenaway will join together this evening (September 8) in the “Sublime Duo” concert, to perform a selection of Greenaway’s compositions.

These days Gilby is probably best known as the concertmaster of the Canberra Symphony Orchestra.

Greenaway recently won the ACT Award for Instrumental Work of the Year for her composition “The 7 Great Inventions of The Modern Industrial Age”, at the seventh annual Art Music Awards.

She has specially arranged several of her duo works for this duo combination, including art songs, cello poems, and the hymn from “7 Great Inventions of the Modern Industrial Age”.

“Sublime Duo”, Great Hall, University House, ANU, 5.30pm, Friday, September 8. Tickets at the door.
