Cops keep a watchful over the Nomads

POLICE say they kept a close eye on the 65 local and interstate members from the Nomads Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) while they were rallying in Canberra last weekend (9-10 September).

OMCG members from NSW and Queensland travelled to Canberra to take part. Members of other motorcycle groups and members of the public also participated.

Taskforce Nemesis and Traffic Operations monitored the activities of the group and while no anti-social or illegal activity was reported to police, an OMCG member was detected at 148km/h hour in a 100km/h zone.

Members of NSW Police Force’s Strike Force Raptor charged a 24-year-old Nomads associate for allegedly driving while suspended and issued a red-label, major defect notice. In addition, a suspension notice and seven traffic infringement notices were issued to Nomads members as they rode through NSW to and from the ACT.
