AN officer has allegedly been hit by a car today (August 11) during a police pursuit, which crossed the border into the ACT.
At about 1.45am police attended a home on Bicentennial Drive, Jerrabomberra, in relation to inquiries about a stolen motor vehicle.
While at the location, it is alleged a man drove a Mercedez Benz out of a garage and rammed a Toyota that was parked in the driveway.
Officers called on the driver to stop, but he allegedly accelerated harshly hitting an officer’s leg. The driver then rammed a police car and drove away.
A pursuit with the vehicle was initiated and continued through a number of streets before entering the Australian Capital Territory, where a short time later the vehicle stopped due to damage.
Three occupants of the vehicle fled, but the 19-year-old driver and two passengers, all male, were arrested.
The men were taken to Civic Police Station but NSW police will seek the extradition of the 19-year-old driver.
The Senior Constable who was hit by a car suffered minor lacerations and bruising.
