Footage shows IGA robber attack employee

STAFF at the IGA Supermarket in Isabella Plains were threatened and assaulted during an attempted robbery last night (September 5).

Two men wearing black clothing, including black balaclavas and gloves, approached a staff member outside the supermarket, located on Ellerston Avenue, at about 7.50pm.

The men threatened the staff member with an edged weapon and directed them into the store. The men then threatened a second staff member, assaulted another staff member, demanded cash and then left the store empty handed.

Police attended the scene, along with the ACT Ambulance Service who treated one staff member for minor injuries and transported them to the Canberra Hospital.

ACT Policing’s Criminal Investigations team is investigating and seeking witnesses and CCTV.

People with information are urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website using reference number 6148398.
