No plans for ‘secret multi-million dollar purchase’

Opposition Leader Alistair Coe.
IT has been revealed in Estimates Hearings that the Planning Directorate has no plans for the CFMEU headquarters in Dickson, despite the government paying $4 million for the site in 2014, says Leader of the Opposition Alistair Coe.

“The fact that the Planning Directorate has no plans for the area begs the question, why the purchase was made? This needs to be cleared up by the government,” Mr Coe says.

“The government’s cosy relationship with certain developers, consultants and unions was on full display when a secret multi-million dollar purchase was made in December of 2014.

“The questionable deal involved contracts exchanging on December 16 and settlement occurring three days later on December 19.”

Mr Coe says all of this was during Andrew Barr’s first week as Chief Minister and suggests this land deal needs further investigation by a future ICAC.
