Police urge victim to speak of ‘traumatic event’

DURING investigations into a seperate serious offences, police obtained footage from a mobile phone that showed an offender using a gun to threaten a man. 

The victim was wearing a distinctive ‘Big Bang Theory’ black shirt.
Police are now seeking to identify the victim following the threats, which occurred inside a vehicle around late 2016 or early 2017.

The man is seen pleading with the offender.

According to police, the victim was wearing a distinctive “Big Bang Theory” black shirt with white writing, during the incident.

Officer in charge of Criminal Investigations, detective acting station sergeant Stephen Ladd is urging the victim to come forward to police.

“Our priority is his welfare and we are offering support and services that may assist in dealing with such a traumatic event,” he says.

“Police recognise the emotional hardship and courage involved in coming forward after experiencing something like this. Let me reassure you, your privacy is respected and will be upheld.

“This is a challenging investigation.  We know who the alleged offender is and investigations are ongoing into the incident. At this stage, we just want the victim to come forward to make sure he is okay.”
