Smoke leads to evacuation in Woden

AN office building in Woden has been evacuated following reports of smoke inside the building.

ACT Fire & Rescue was alerted to the incident in Furzer Street at 2.12pm and fire crews are currently searching the building for the source of the smoke.

 

Update: June 19, 3.50pm.

FIREFIGHTERS have been unable to find the exact source of the smoke after searching the building but is is believed to have come from a server room.

The HAZMAT crew have conducted atmospheric monitoring and deemed the area safe.

Around 800 people were evacuated but have now been allowed back inside.
