THERE’S only days to go before winter begins but the season has already started in Thredbo after around 20 centimetres of snow landed on the mountain overnight.

The temperatures fell to minus five and minus one is the expected temperature today.

The ski season officially starts on June 10, which will mark its 60th anniversary season.

Thredbo operations manager Stuart Diver says: “Very cold temperatures saw snowmaking fire up last night complementing the natural falls, it is looking good for the opening weekend in just under two weeks.”
