A Griffith man, 52, will face Court after he was caught unlicensed, drink driving with an overhanging load.
A GRIFFITH man, 52, will face court after he was caught unlicensed, drink driving with an overhanging load last night (August 8).

While on patrol, at around 11.10pm, police saw three utes travelling in a convoy on Fairbairn Avenue, one of which was carrying a large metal frame on its roof.

The frame was measured to be 5.5m wide at the rear, 3.8m wide at the front and 6.5m long and was being transported without a permit.

Police say the driver was found to be unlicensed and underwent a roadside breath test returning a positive result. He was conveyed to the City Police Station where a breath analysis was conducted, returning a blood alcohol reading of 0.133.

The man was issued with an Immediate Suspension Notice and will be summonsed to face court at a later date where he will be charged with drink driving, driving unlicensed and driving a vehicle with an overhanging load. If convicted, the man will be a repeat drink driving offender.
