Armed duo target two Canberra stores

POLICE are seeking to identify two men, who are believed to be linked to two seperate robberies in January. 

The first robbery, on January 11, saw the men enter the Crust pizza store on Liardet Street, in Weston, and steal cash. Police believe the men were driving a blue sedan driving along Parkinson Street, towards Namatjira Drive, Weston, on the same day.

The second robbery, on January 28, saw what is believed to be the same men enter the IGA Supermarket on Ellerston Avenue, Isabella Plains, armed, at about 7.45pm. They made demands for money and staff complied.

One man is described as about 180cm (6’) tall and of a slim build. During the Weston aggravated robbery he was wearing a mask, gloves, a grey hooded jumper, black pants and white shoes. He was carrying a knife in his right hand.

The other man is described as about 180cm (6’) tall and a slim build. During the Weston aggravated robbery he was wearing a mask, gloves, a black baseball cap, a black jumper and dark pants. He was also carrying a knife.
