NISHI Gallery is opening an exhibition about landscapes and colourscapes through photography and conceptual jewellery this weekend. Curated by Yasmin Masri, “Greybilly” explores the search for and creation of, what is precious and the reality of finite resources through photographs by Melbourne-based artist Abigail Varney and conceptual jewellery by Sydney-artist Nina Baker. ARTIST and humourist Bryan Dawe will be in conversation over champagne in “A Satirist’s Journey From Port Adelaide to Tangier”. During the talk, visitor’s will meet Dawe’s two characters Roly Parks from Kalangadoo and Sir Murray Rivers QC. ARTIST Kellie O’Dempsey has been inviting NGA visitors into her living sketchbook since June, and tonight in the gallery’s “NGA Play” space, she’ll be performing there for the last time on August 3, joined by dancers from the Australian Dance Party. “The never-ending line”, NGA Play area, National Gallery of Australia, 6pm-8pm, Friday, August 3.
