THOMAS Lacey, best known as the star of “Dance Academy” and the lead in Baz Luhrmann’s stage version of “Strictly Ballroom”, will be visiting Canberra schools tomorrow, Friday, August 24, promoting his role as Danny in “Grease – The Arena Experience”.

Four so-called “Mega Shows” will be staged at AIS Indoor Arena in October, with locally-engaged extras to make the cast over 400.

Cast against the usual gender for the part, Aria Award-winner Christine Anu will play Teen Angel, while Ashleigh Taylor will play Sandy opposite Lacey.

“Grease” is a stage perennial, dealing with teenage love, cliques, and peer pressure at the fictional Rydell High School and the show will features all the favourite hits such as “You’re the One That I Want”, “Greased Lightnin'”, “Grease is the Word”, “Summer Nights” and “Beauty School Drop Out”.
