“SPANISCHES Liederabend” is a concert program soprano Louise Keast and the Revival House Project are aiming to establish as an annual event. Keast, mezzo-soprano Melissa Gregory, tenor Tom Holownia and baritone Oliver Boyd will perform a program of Spanish poetry set to music, accompanied by Brisbane pianist Mark Connors and ANU guitarist Bradley Kunda. Llewellyn Choir’s pre-Spain performance… at St Paul’s Church, Manuka, April 7 .

THE Llewellyn Choir is flying to Spain on April 15 to perform in Madrid, Salamanca, Cordoba and Barcelona. Thirty-seven singers, 12 spouses, conductor Rowan Harvey-Martin and accompanist Anthony Smith will make up the group of 51. But first the choir will perform the works they’ll be touring, Requiem Mass in C Minor by Cherubini and “Messe Solennelle” by Vier at St Paul’s Church, Manuka, 7.30pm, on Saturday, April 7. COMPOSER and local music legend Judith Clingan is trying to work out what to do with her collection of music, much of it her own. She needs lots of cardboard boxes around the B4 size and asks that anyone with suitable boxes leave them behind the wooden fence at 11 Mirbelia Crescent, Rivett. But what to do with her huge collection after that? She is looking for ideas.

CANBERRA poet Geoff Page won the 2017 Australian Catholic University Prize of $10,000 and now it’s time for the 2018 competition. This year’s theme is “Empathy” and Chris Wallace-Crabbe will judge. Prizes are $10,000 for the winner, $5000 for second and $3000 for third. Entries to acu.edu.au by 5pm on Friday, July 20.

TWO innovative performers, Anton Wurzer on accordion and Ariana Odermatt on cembalo/harpsichord, will perform compositions by JS Bach and GF Handel in “Unique Baroque” at Wesley Music Centre, 3pm, Saturday, April 7. Tickets at the door.
