THE Australia Indonesia Association’s annual winter dinner is coming up to celebrate Hari Kemerdekaan, Indonesia’s Independence Day, which falls late this week.

There’ll be live Indonesian performances by a large gamelan group, a modern Indonesian band and traditional dancers, with an entertaining screen presentation on “10 Great Indonesian Holiday destinations”.

This year the guest speaker will be Kristiarto Legowo, Indonesian Ambassador to Australia and the Rijsttafel (rice table), cooked by Indo Café, is described as an “Indonesian adventure”.

AIA winter dinner, Theo Notaras Multicultural Function Room, 180 London Circuit, Civic. Online bookings are closed, but phone bookings can be made to Bill at 0438 881750 or SMS bookings to Les at 0418 210348. Non-members of AIA are welcome.
