The assault occurred on East Row, just outside the Sydney Building, near Alinga Street. Police allege two men had been fighting and a woman also became involved, resulting in one of the men being seriously injured.
Police want to talk to a man described as being of African appearance, tall, wearing black pants and red Nike shoes, who was photographed holding a mobile phone and appeared to be recording the assault.
Police would like the man depicted in the photo, or anyone else who may have witnessed and/or filmed the incident, or has any information in relation to the incident to call 131 444, or contact them via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
