Dog ‘seriously injures’ officer

A POLICE officer is in hospital with “serious injuries” after being attacked by a dog while working yesterday morning (July 1). 

The officer was at a house on Lomatia Place, Rivett, at about 9.40am, after reports that a man had stolen a mobility scooter from the Cooleman Court shopping centre on Wednesday (June 27).

While at the house, the offender’s dog attacked the officer, who had to be taken to hospital.

The animal was seized by Domestic Animal Services and the man has been charged with theft, cause harm to Commonwealth public official and three counts of cause grievous bodily harm.
