Liquor store staff threatened with hammer

THE Vintage Cellars liquor store, in McEwan Avenue, Oaks Estate, was robbed on Friday (March 23) afternoon by a man carrying a small black bag and a claw hammer.

The suspect caught in the security camera at Vintage Cellars in Oaks Estate.
Police say the man threatened staff with the hammer before fleeing the premises on foot with the cash register in the direction of Queanbeyan train station.

He is described as wearing a grey hoodie, light-coloured pants, mirrored glasses, black shoes with white soles and dark gloves.

No-one was injured during this incident.

Anyone with any information or dash-cam footage that could assist police should call 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website. Information can be provided anonymously.
