Police investigate fire in Queanbeyan

POLICE are investigating a fire, which broke out in a townhouse in Queanbeyan this morning (August 9). 

At about 9.20am officers travelling on Broughton Street when they noticed smoke coming from the townhouse.

They were met by Fire & Rescue NSW officers who had started extinguishing the fire.

A crime scene has been established while officers work to determine the cause.

A number of surrounding residents were evacuated as a precaution.
