Domain’s “State of the Market Rental Report” for the June quarter has revealed that Canberra’s median weekly asking rent for houses is $550, and $450 for units.
“Increases to rates and land tax have made it very expensive for Canberrans to own a home,” Mr Coe says.
“Renters are being charged more to offset increasing charges that home owners must pay.
“There’s no denying that Canberra has become a two paced society, with so many Canberrans struggling to keep up with the cost of living under ACT Labor.”
