A TEENAGER has died after a boat capsized on the south coast this morning (March 24).
At about 7am, a vessel carrying three adults and three children capsized while attempting to cross the Moruya River bar about a kilometre from the shore.
NSW police say five of the passengers on board the 6.3-metre vessel were rescued but the body of a 13-year-old girl was located in the up-turned vessel.
The five passengers – three men aged 18, 29 and 46, and two 13-year-old children, were all taken to hospital for treatment to non-life-threatening injuries. The vessel is yet to be recovered.
Police from Marine Area Command will continue with the investigation and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
