Link Airways... hailed a success.

With Bonza Airlines gone and Rex Airlines in administration, one small, Canberra-based airline is being hailed a success.

University business analyst Dr Paresh Pant, of Griffith University's Business School is singing the praises for the business model for Link Airways.

He says Link's arrangement with Virgin Airways to deliver flight services between Canberra and Sydney adds to the local airline's already busy schedule involving other regional locations.

His comment comes after the ACCC has warned we're back to the bad old days of little, if any, effective competition in the aviation market.

The loss of Bonza and the latest issues involving Rex has led to the consumer watchdog predicting higher airfares and poorer service for consumers.
