Batik Air is backing away from its direct services from Canberra to Bali.

By aviation writer Scott Mayman

Just months after launching its schedules between Canberra and Bali, Batik Air is reducing its flights, which has left some passengers angry.

The airline has walked back on its commitment to three services a week between the cities.

It's understood, the decision comes after a slower than expected demand for the service.

While Canberra Airport remains confident the route is sustainable, passengers have been left angered at the change.

Some have been re-accommodated on flights that leave Canberra either a week earlier or later than planned.
