<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <docID>327669</docID> <postdate>2024-08-26 16:54:40</postdate> <headline>Woman charged with assaulting police officer</headline> <body><p><strong>A 40-year-old woman has been charged with assaulting a police officer at a shopping centre in Canberra’s south over the weekend. </strong></p> <p>Police say they were called to the Calwell Shopping Centre following reports of a disturbance involving several people at 7.30pm on Saturday.</p> <p>Officers were speaking to a witness when a 40-year-old woman allegedly ran at one of them and punched the officer in the face.</p> <p>The woman was arrested and charged.</p> <p> </p> </body>
