Liberal MLA Mark Parton has vowed to put Tuggeranong "back on the map".

“People in Tuggeranong have been telling us for so long they have been ignored by the Labor-Greens Government and I have vowed to put Tuggeranong back on the map."

To that end the Canberra Liberals have announced an election policy that provides spending to restore Lake Tuggeranong, with a focus on water quality, and increased funding for mowing, footpath maintenance and playgrounds.

In particular, there will be funding for the Tuggeranong United Football Club and the Brindabella Blues Football Club to upgrade change rooms, playing fields, pavilions and other facilities.

“The announcements we have made today are more than investments in sporting clubs who need upgrades to their facilities, they are investments in families who have a right to feel neglected," said Parton.

“The people of Tuggeranong deserve better facilities along with public transport options, healthcare and cost-of-living relief."
