(AP PHOTO)</caption> <p><strong>Britpop sensation Oasis will play concerts in Australia for the first time in two decades as part of the band's reunion tour.</strong></p> <p>"People of the land down under. You better run-you better take cover... We are coming. You are most welcome," the band posted on X on Tuesday morning.</p> <p>Liam and Noel Gallagher will play at Melbourne's Marvel Stadium on October 31, 2025, followed by Sydney's Accor Stadium on November 7, backed by touring giant Live Nation.</p> <p>Registration to buy tickets has opened online, with pre-sales open on Monday and general sales starting on Tuesday.</p> <p>Oasis was one of the top bands of the Britpop wave of the 1990s and enjoyed huge success in Australia with their singles on high rotation on radio playlists.</p> <p>Their second album (What's the Story) Morning Glory? has gone platinum eight times in the Australian charts, and its hit single Wonderwall topped the Triple J Hottest 100 in 1995, the year it was released.</p> <p>The band last played Half the World Away in Australia in 2005, for their album Don't Believe the Truth.</p> <p>Fans online have already questioned whether the 2025 concerts count as an "Australian tour" given dates are only scheduled for Sydney and Melbourne at this stage.</p> <p>Competition for tickets will be intense. The band sold 500,000 tickets in an hour for their North American tour dates, which immediately sold out.</p> <p>The Wonderwall rockers announced the first international dates for their much-anticipated Oasis Live '25 reunion tour last week and tickets for the shows in Toronto, Chicago, New Jersey, Los Angeles and Mexico City were rapidly snapped up.</p> <p>It will be the first time Oasis have performed in North America and Mexico since 2008, when they toured their seventh studio album Dig Out Your Soul.</p> <p>The tour was brought to an abrupt end the following year as Noel Gallagher quit the band following a backstage bust-up with younger brother Liam Gallagher as they were due to perform in Paris.</p> <p>The Britpop icons have already sold out 19 stadium shows across the UK and Ireland next summer.</p> <p>Just days ago, billboards appeared across the nation reading "Australia: It's your shout!", announcing tour dates would be revealed at 8am (AEDT) on Tuesday.</p> <p>The Gallagher brothers are set to cash in on the reunion tour with a string of merchandise and have "covered everything" from fly swatters to ironing boards with their new trademark.</p> <p>A source told The Sun newspaper: "They have big plans for merchandise.</p> <p>"Millions of people wanted to get tickets to the shows and Oasis know they'll also be splashing the cash on branded stuff.</p> <p>"The new trademark is for Oasis Live '25 and covers everything.</p> <p>"Clothes pegs and Christmas wreaths, deodorants and moisturisers are also listed."</p> <p>Liam has also joked about the prospect of Oasis going on an "old dears" tour with Britpop rivals Blur.</p> <p>The 52-year-old musician posted on X in reply to a fan: "I love Blur and at some point we have to do n old dears tour (sic)."</p> <p><i>- with BANG Entertainment</i></p> </body>
