(Darren Pateman/AAP PHOTOS)</caption> <p><span class="kicker-line">By <strong>Luke Costin</strong> in Sydney</span></p> <p><strong>A search is resuming for a boy swept out to sea on the NSW Central Coast.</strong></p> <p>The 11-year-old was walking with his three siblings and his father at The Entrance when disaster struck about 5pm on Sunday.</p> <p>The group attempted to cross a channel between an estuary and the ocean, when the eldest boy was swept into the ocean by the current.</p> <p>While two bystanders looked after the other three children, the father tried to reach the boy but was unsuccessful, police said on Monday.</p> <p>Local police, surf life savers, water police and rescue helicopters launched an extensive land, air and sea search but could not find the child before dusk.</p> <p>The same agencies were expected to resume the search about 8am on Monday.</p> <p>The Entrance is at the mouth of Tuggerah Lake and is a popular weekend and holiday destination, 100 km north of Sydney.</p> </body>
