<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <docID>335328</docID> <postdate>2024-12-14 14:53:15</postdate> <headline>Man takes sledgehammer to police station</headline> <body><div id="component_274120"> <p><strong>Police subdued a 23-year-old man with tasers after he entered the Tuggeranong Police Station armed with a sledgehammer and began using the handle to strike the barrier on the front desk on Friday afternoon.</strong></p> <p>Police allege he then used the hammer to knock items to the floor while other members of the public were in the station.</p> <p>Officers entered the foyer and used their tasers to subdue the man before he was arrested.</p> <p>He has been charged with damaging Commonwealth property, possessing an offensive weapon, and affray.</p> </div> </body>
