<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <docID>335435</docID> <postdate>2024-12-16 15:16:56</postdate> <headline>Qatar’s feeling the love for Canberra again</headline> <body><p><img class=" wp-image-160669" src="https://citynews.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Qatar-Airways-1-e1731125450817.png" alt="" width="855" height="571" /></p> <caption>Qatar heads back to Canberra... but when?</caption> <p><strong>Qatar Airways is to re-launch daily flights to Canberra, but it would seem not any time soon.</strong></p> <p>The company says the daily flights, via Melbourne, to the airline’s hub at Hamad International Airport in Doha, will begin no later than December next year.</p> <p>They will be operated by Boeing 777 aircraft.</p> <p>Qatar Airways ceased operations to Canberra (via Sydney) during the covid pandemic.</p> <p>The announcement comes on top of Monday's launch of sales of Virgin Australia’s new services from Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne to Doha (operated on Qatar Airways aircraft).</p> <p>The Qatar Airways and Virgin Australia partnership is still subject to regulatory approval.</p> </body>
