There’s some serious celebrating at Bom Funk Dance Studio, after a top-notch year of success at the 2024 Australasian Dance Education Awards.

Bom Funk’s owner of 10 years, Kym Degenhart, says the studio in Jerrabomberra/Queanbeyan scored four gold and two silver accolades, competing against finalists from across Australia and NZ.

Golds went to Bom Funk for Regional Dance Studio of the Year, Excellence in Customer Service (which they also won in 2023) Excellence in Marketing & Brand and a silver for Australian Dance Studio of the Year.

As well, Bom Funk dance staffer Shekiralea Healy won a silver as Studio Dance Teacher of the Year.

Looking to the future, Degenhart says, they are planning a tour to Japan in 2025, hoping to be the first Australian dance studio to perform at venues such as Tokyo Disney, Universal Studios Osaka, and the World Expo in Osaka.

Bom Funk Dance Studio will host an open day at 37 Jerrabomberra Parkway on February 1.
