Photo: ACT police</caption> <p><strong>A 35-year-old disqualified and drugged motorcyclist has been charged with driving and weapons offences after taking off from an RBT and failing to stop for police on Christmas Day.</strong></p> <p>At about 10 am police directed the rider to stop at a Random Breath Testing unit on Commonwealth Avenue, Civic. After initially complying, police allege he took off at speed and crossed to the wrong side of the road.</p> <p>Police estimate the rider was doing 120km/h, weaving in and out of traffic.</p> <p>The stationary motorcycle was found in the gardens of Parliament House, with the man picked up a short time later on Hobart Avenue, Forrest.</p> <p>A search revealed he was carrying two firearms – one loaded – a knife, and drugs.</p> <p>A roadside alcohol and drug screening test returned a positive result for the presence of drugs.</p> <p>The man has been charged with driving while disqualified, failing to stop for police, exceeding the speed limit, driving with a prescribed drug in his oral fluid, numberplate issued for another vehicle, possessing a prohibited firearm, possessing ammunition, using an unregistered vehicle, using an uninsured vehicle, and failing to keep left on a two-way road.</p> </div> <div class="image-gallery glide--ltr glide--carousel glide--swipeable" data-gallery="274997"> <div class="glide--image-gallery"> <div class="glide__bullets" data-glide-el="controls[nav]"></div> </div> </div> </body>
