<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <docID>335968</docID> <postdate>2024-12-30 08:35:03</postdate> <headline>Drugged, drunk and out on the roads</headline> <body><div id="component_275227"> <div> <p><strong>Two 20-year-old men have been charged with driving offences, including drink and drug driving, in separate incidents.</strong></p> </div> <div> <p>On Saturday morning police were called to a disturbance in Monash where it is alleged a 20-year-old P-plater on a black Suzuki motorcycle did a burnout on the driveway before getting into a physical altercation with a male resident.</p> </div> <div> <p>The man and his female passenger left on the bike, but were arrested a short time later.</p> </div> <div> <p>Police say the bike was unregistered and unroadworthy, with stolen registration plates, covered indicators and leaking fuel.</p> </div> <div> <p>The man returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.116 to a breath analysis test.</p> </div> <div> <p>He has been charged with offences including driving under the influence, driving an unsafely maintained vehicle and failing to display his provisional plates.</p> </div> <div> <p>In a separate incident, another 20-year-old man was arrested after allegedly failing to stop for police while driving a stolen vehicle.</p> </div> <div> <p>Early on Sunday morning police were notified by NSW Police of a white Skoda Kodiaq seen speeding near the ACT border.</p> </div> <div> <p>ACT police located the Skoda on the Monaro Highway near Hume and directed the driver to pull over.</p> </div> <div> <p>The driver refused to stop, swerving on to the wrong side of the road and travelling at more than 180km/h in a 100km/h zone.</p> </div> <div> <p>The vehicle eventually stopped in Monash where the driver was arrested. A female passenger who had exited the vehicle during the pursuit was also arrested.</p> </div> <div> <p>The 20-year-old man, who was subject to bail conditions, was charged with offences including driving while under the influence of a drug, failing to stop for police, aggravated dangerous driving and driving a motor vehicle without consent.</p> </div> </div> </body>
