<div dir="auto"><strong>The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall, moving towards the east of the ACT.</strong></div>

<p>BoM says an unstable airmass and an upper wave combine with a surface convergence zone to generate severe thunderstorms on Tuesday afternoon.</p>
<p>Severe thunderstorms are likely to produce large hailstones, damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours.</p>
<p>Locations which may be affected include Cooma, Glen Davis, Bilpin, Captains Flat, Bredbo and Nimmitabel.</p>

<p>The ACT State Emergency Service advises people to:</p>

<li><em>Move cars under cover and away from trees;</em></li>
<li><em>Secure or put away loose items;</em></li>
<li><em>Keep at least eight metres away from fallen power lines;</em></li>
<li><em>Stay indoors away from windows;</em></li>
<li><em>Never drive, walk or ride through floodwater.</em></li>
