<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <docID>337147</docID> <postdate>2025-01-28 15:08:17</postdate> <headline>Community laundry makes a clean start</headline> <body><p><img class=" wp-image-300761" src="https://citynews.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Weston-Creek-Community-Centre.jpg" alt="" width="900" height="600" /></p> <caption>The Weston Creek Community Centre's free laundry is back.</caption> <p><strong>Weston Creek Community Centre is once again offering free clothes washing and drying services for </strong><strong>homeless people and anyone in need.</strong></p> <p>Manager Yung Tran said a thief cut open the gate padlock at the Cooleman Court centre's back courtyard in mid-December and made off with the Bosch washing machine and Bosch heat-pump dryer.</p> <p>The centre had now bought a dryer and the Gungahlin Rural Fire Service had donated a new washing machine.</p> <p>Extra security measures were installed to monitor and protect the facility.</p> <p>The machines were set up in 2023 to provide free laundry services for homeless people and anyone in need.</p> <p><em>Together with the free shower, anyone who needs to use these facilities can contact the centre to book a time</em><br /> <em>Monday to Friday, 9am to 3pm.
