<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <docID>338286</docID> <postdate>2025-02-14 11:08:16</postdate> <headline>More arrests in attempted-murder probe</headline> <body><div id="component_279252"> <div> <p><strong>Two more people have been charged in relation to an attempted murder in Wanniassa last year.</strong></p> <p>In November, Major Crime Squad investigators arrested a 30-year-old Garran man and charged him with attempted murder.</p> <div> <p>On Thursday, following multiple searches across south Canberra, they arrested a 35-year-old-man and a 22-year-old woman for being accessories after the fact. Police will allege the pair assisted the main offender escape apprehension following the incident.</p> </div> </div> <div> <p>On September 4 a man suffered life-threatening injuries, including multiple deep incisions and fractures at a home in Wanniassa. He was taken to hospital where he underwent life-saving surgery and was placed in an induced coma for four days.</p> </div> <div></div> <div> <p>Police say they are are also seeking information about the weapon believed to have been used during the assault – a 25-inch Gerber Gator machete.</p> </div> <div> <p><em>Anyone with information should call 1800 333000 or via the <a href="https://www.crimestoppersact.com.au/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Crime Stoppers ACT website</a>.
