<headline>74-year-old charged with child sex offences</headline>
<body><p><strong>A 74-year-old man has been arrested following an investigation into his alleged sexual abuse of a five-year-old girl.</strong></p>
<p>Police will allege that the man abused the child at his south Canberra home between 2023 and 2024.</p>
<p>On February 19, police received a report regarding the alleged abuse and yesterday afternoon searched the manâ€™s residence, where they found suspected child exploitation material on his phone.</p>
<p>The man has been charged with committing an aggravated act of indecency on a child under 10 years old and possessing child exploitation material.</p>
