Air New Zealand's doing its bit to put Canberra on the map – even though the airline doesn't fly to the national capital.

It's airline magazine has published an article featuring Canberra, including the promotion of a hotel and various other ACT locations.

In July, Canberra airport CEO Stephen Byron promoted the idea of direct non-stop flights, describing the service as “a real prospect” for flights across the Tasman.

He publicly stated, a new Wellington-Canberra and Auckland-Canberra flight route was being considered by the ACT government. Yet the flights are still not available.
