<headline>Police taser man after city assaults</headline>
<body><p><strong>Police tasered a 22-year-old Richardson man on a good behaviour order as he tried to escape arrest after a series of assaults in Civic early on Sunday morning.</strong></p>
<p>At about 1am in Garema Place, the man had approached a group of people including his former partner.</p>
<p>He is alleged to have pushed a man to the ground before stomping on his head, rendering him unconscious. He then allegedly dragged a woman, his former partner, by the hair and punched another woman.</p>
<p>Police say that in a nearby car park, the man then allegedly kicked and punched his former partnerâ€™s vehicle, causing significant damage.</p>
<p>The man was tasered then arrested following his attempted escape.</p>
<p>He was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, affray, common assault and breaching a good behaviour order.</p>
<p>He also faces two family violence charges of aggravated common assault and aggravated property damage.</p>
<p>The man is expected to appear in the ACT Magistrates Court on Monday.</p>
