<?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <docID>341850</docID> <postdate>2025-04-05 13:12:56</postdate> <headline>Drugged teen driver caught in stolen BMW</headline> <body><p><strong>Two teen boys have been arrested following multiple pursuits in a stolen BMW SUV through the inner north overnight. The 16-year-old driver has been charged with driving under the influence of drugs.</strong></p> <p>Between Thursday night and Friday morning the white BMW was stolen from a home in Amaroo.</p> <p>Throughout Friday afternoon, police received multiple Triple Zero calls reporting the vehicle for driving dangerously including travelling at high speeds, moving through traffic and failing to stop at traffic lights.</p> <p>At about 11.10pm on Friday police located the vehicle and tried to stop it. The teen driver accelerated away on the Barton Highway in Crace.</p> <p>Shortly after, police sighted the vehicle on Ellenborough Avenue, Lyneham, and again the vehicle failed to stop.</p> <p>By 11.30pm, police successfully used a tyre-deflation device on the Barton Highway, Crace, directing the driver to pull over but he didn't.</p> <p>The BMW finally came to a stop in Palmerston where the driver and a 14-year-old passenger attempted to flee on foot but were arrested by police.</p> <p>The 16-year-old boy underwent an oral fluid analysis that returned a positive result for methylamphetamine. He has been charged with three counts of failing to stop for police, three counts of dangerous driving, driving a motor vehicle without consent, driving under the influence of drugs and driving unlicensed.</p> <p>The 14-year-old was found to have breached a good behaviour order, and he has also been charged with riding in a motor vehicle without consent.</p> </body>
